Bayou Desiard Residence

Located on Bayou Desiard in Monroe, Louisiana. A wrought iron entry gate and brick path provide access to the rear gardens and bayou located behind the home. The walkway is bordered with Indigo and Fern while Mondo Grass fills the gaps in the brick paving. The rear garden features all the traditional and beautiful plantings found in luscious gardens throughout the south. The garden boasts of mass plantings of Azaleas, Camellias, Indigo, Ferns, and Agapanthus. Cascading down the lawn to the bayou below is a bricked stepped path. Cypress trees and dense plantings of Virginia Willow, Wood Fern, Autumn Fern and other native ground covers are found at the bayou’s edge.

This project provided the owner with beautiful southern style garden that gracefully connected the home to the bayou.
